Are you an NQT? If so, this webinar is perfect for you!

Join us on Wednesday the 28th of June at 8pm as we explore the career options that NQTs have once they have completed their studies.

Traditionally on completion of a teaching qualification, NQTs without a secured position in a school, have often had no choice but to approach supply or recruitment agencies to help secure the necessary experience and to find permanent jobs. Until now that is.

During the 1 hour webinar, we will discuss and explore:

  • Insights into life in the supply world
  • How to maximise their opportunities of getting regular supply work
  • How best to prepare for those first few days in the classroom
  • Full time, contract and supply teaching
  • Wages, payment & the TPS
  • Teaching Unions and your options
  • Agencies and the alternative approaches
  • What support is available in the teaching community

We also have a special guest joining us to tell you more about the National Union of Teachers and how they can help and support you! Richard Knights was a primary teacher from 1997-2011 and has been supply teaching since 2011. He is also the secretary for the NUT Supply Teachers’ Network and has a wealth of knowledge he wants to share with you. Some of his accolades include holding a lobby of Parliament in 2014, a demonstration outside London supply agencies in 2015 and he also organised the campaign in 2015 that saved the Sefton Council Supply Teacher Service. Richard, along with many others, is dedicated to ending the Supply Agency Rip-Off and wants to ensure there is a qualified teacher in every classroom across the UK.

It is vital that you consider the alternatives before being tied down as an exploitable asset for commercial supply agencies.
