The word ‘interview’ can bring on feelings of pressure and anxiety for a lot of people. Failed job applications from the past come back to haunt you and you may worry that your nerves will ruin your chances of nailing the interview so you avoid it by putting it off til later.

The good news is, your interview with TeacherIn will be very different.  The following information describes exactly how the TeacherIn interview works, what it entails and includes some top tips to help you to interview successfully.

Who will be interviewing me?
Your TeacherIn interview will take place with Simon from TeacherIn who has spent years as a teacher trainer.

When will the interview take place?
At a time that fits in with your schedule! The interview will take roughly 15 minutes and you are able to choose a date and time that suits you best.

Where does the interview take place?
The beauty of the TeacherIn online interview is that you can do it from the comfort of your own home! As soon as you select a time for your interview, you will receive a confirmation email from Calendly along with the instructions on how to access the online interview using in just 4 simple steps.

What does the interview involve?
During the interview Simon will explain who we are and how the TeacherIn app works. We will then discuss your TeacherIn professional profile and Simon will ask you a few questions about your teaching experience and strengths as a teacher. If you have any questions, there will be ample time at the end of the interview to get all the answers you need.

What do I need for my interview?
Not much at all! Just yourself, a computer or a laptop with working speakers, microphone and a webcam and ensure you have Google Chrome downloaded too. Have your passport and DBS certificate next to you and join the interview 5 minutes before your interview time.

Why do I need to have an interview?
The interview is an integral part of TeacherIn’s safeguarding and vetting procedures. It allows our team to ensure that you are suitable for supply work through the app and allows us to check your identity against your provided documents and ID. Once you have had your interview and we have heard back from your referees and completed all other safeguarding procedures, your profile will then be made live on the app so that schools can view it and book you in for supply.

It’s as easy as that!  The confirmation email  you receive when you schedule in your interview contains everything you need to know, but if you want some extra help, feel free to send Simon an email beforehand and he will help to get you all set up in time.
